The hosts scored three goals while holding a man advantage, including their first two which helped them erase an early 2-0 deficit. League scoring champion Curtis Gardham led the C-Hawks with a trick, while Jason Corbett and Mike Huberdeau each notched a pair. Duncan Lelond chipped in with a single for the hosts, who trailed 2-1 after the first period but led 4-2 after 40 minutes. Joel Yanick scored twice for the Eagles, while Jay Thiesen added a single. Game two is slated for Shoal Lake on Saturday, Feb. 20, with game three back in Miniota on Sunday, Feb. 21. Reston 11 Foxwarren 1 Jaydyn Murray and Derek Elliott each recorded hat tricks as the Reston Rockets hammered the Foxwarren Falcons 11-1 on Wednesday, Feb. 17 to take a 1-0 lead in their quarter final series. Mike Volk, Rick Stephenson, Landon Brockman, Tyson Roblin and Kent Schiltroth chipped in with singles for the hosts, who led 4-0 and 7-1 at the intermissions. Aaron Chipelski replied for the Falcons, who played with just 10 players. Oak Lake-Brandon 5 Roblin 4 Landon Desjardins' second goal of the game midway through the third period snapped a 4-4 tie and gave the Oak Lake-Brandon Icemen a 5-4 win over the Roblin Northstars in the opening game of their quarter final series in Oak Lake on Friday, Feb. 12. The teams were tied 1-1 and 4-4 at the intermissions. Dustin Hildebrand, Scott Langston and Adam Hetherington added singles for the hosts. The Roblin goals came off the sticks of Ryan Bram, Willie Bulbuck, Devron Jakeman and Shawn Yakimishyn. Game two was to be played on Thursday, Feb. 18 in Roblin, with game three back in Oak Lake on Saturday, Feb. 20. The Grandview Comets and Kenton Cougars will begin their quarter final series on Friday, Feb. 19 in Kenton. Games two and three will then be played in Grandview on Sunday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 27.
